The Thea Bowman Center, located at the corner of Union Ave. and E. 120th Street, began in 1966 as a hunger center at the former Epiphany Parish. Named in honor of Francsican Sr. Thea Bowman, FSPA, an African American nun who was a vital advocate for intercultural awareness in the Catholic Church, TBC is now an independent 501(c)3 charitable organization, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the Mount Pleasant community of Cleveland through food support, children’s programs and adult education.
