Lectors

IMG_2310_2

The lector (Latin for “one who reads”) assists with the proclamation of the Word of God at mass. Lectors read from a book called the Lectionary, which contains the readings from the Old and New Testament that are assigned to a particular Sunday or feast day. Those who serve in this ministry must be comfortable (or be willing to work toward a level of comfort) speaking in front a crowd and have a clear, pleasant speaking voice. If you are interested in learning more about this ministry or would like to volunteer, please speak personally with Deacon Ron James.
